EXPERIENCE OF VISITING THE MUSEUM OF BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA & ART GALLERY
The main focus is here! On 5th June 2024, we visited the Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur for our assignment of PAF3123, advanced accounting course. Let's go through it together to see on how exciting this site-visit went on!😉
We gathered at our faculty building's foyer at 8:00 AM and went there by three different buses at 8:30 AM from Sultan Azlan Shah Campus (KSAS) of Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) to Kuala Lumpur. The organizer was very welcoming and helpful. They even take care of our welfare by providing food and drink as well as guidance and safety. It took us only an hour and half to arrive at the Museum of Bank Negara Malaysia. On our way to the museum, we enjoyed the time and already gave much expectation on our site-visiting.
Picture 2: The entrance door into the museum
We are not allowed to bring any kind of bags, food and drink inside the museum. So those who bring any of this thing, need to keep it at the counter of the ground floor. We are only allowed to bring our smartphone and camera. Honestly, there is no problem with this policy but we kind of wish they could provide us more safe place to keep our things outside. At least, we were allowed to take pictures and videos there.

There are so many educational games related to finance in this place which even us find it very amusing and beneficial. Being the first place we visited in this museum, we tried almost every games and eventually lost in time.
Picture 16: Yap stone at the children's gallery tunnel
Fun fact, previously, both Tampang and Yap Stone had been used as money! Imagine bringing heavy stone to pay during the old days.
Picture 17 - 18 : Our pictures at the end of the tunnel
It is such a waste to not be taking pictures at this pretty RM1 million wall at the end of the children's gallery tunnel. Can you see the things we sat on? It is replica of coins!
Picture 19: Islamic Finance Gallery and Economic at the first level of the museum
Next, we continue to explore the first level of the museum which is about Islamic Finance and Economic. Take a look on few of the interesting things here!
Picture 20 - 26 : Few things in the Islamic Finance Gallery
There are so many things that provide us with facts. We basically learn more about the Islamic financial system and the economic gallery of Malaysia here. I remember that we also played a game in which the method of the game is just like monopoly board game but here, it is about learning Islamic financial system.
Picture 27 - 33: Numismatics Gallery
At the upper level, which is the second level, there is Numismatics Gallery. It provide most of useful information about field of currency such as token, paper money and medals.
At the third level, there is an art gallery where you can find many local beautiful art. Honestly, as an accounting students, surely we do not really know about art, but the art displayed here are very mesmerizing. We took some time to admire every piece of arts by the Malay and Indonesian artists here. Not just appreciating the art, we also took the opportunity to take some pictures at this photoshoot-worth place.
This museum also has a unique souvenir shop and cafe that you can visit at the ground floor. The souvenir shop sells variety kinds of local merchandise such as tote bag, hat, shirts, books, button badges, etc. While the cafe offers coffee and non-coffee drinks, meals such as sandwich, cake and breads. We also went to both of these places before we ended our exploration and site-visiting this Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery. We went out of this museum at 12:30 PM and went back to Tanjung Malim safely.
